We spent the whole day on the USS Midway. We were first in line when it opened at 10 am. The first thing they do is take your picture and give you your items for the audio tour. I noticed a sign about the island tour(the bridge), that it was first come first served. I asked how to get there and we headed straight there. We were the first ones in line and the docents checked to see if anyone else was coming and no one was so we got a private tour of the island and it was awesome. We spent the rest of the day on the ship and throughly enjoyed ourselves.
Tour of the island.
I don't think I would have gotten these great pictures if the tour happened to be filled. We were so lucky to be the only 2 on the tour.
We spent several hours on the flight deck. We listened to 2 great presentations on how planes took off using the catapult and landing using the catch cables.
Inside the ship. I think this was the radar room.
Inside one of the many helicopters on the flight deck.
One of the many ready rooms for the pilots.
Allan looks ready doesn't he!

The USS Midway did not participate in the battle of midway but they had a very good display and short movie of the battle.
