Art Class - September 2014 - May 2015

I took an art class this past year and it was so much fun. I learned a lot and have a lot more to learn. I hope the class is offered again in the fall. The teacher said she would offer it again if there were 5 adults interested in it.

This is the first project we did, a sunflower.

We drew more sunflowers then traced them onto watercolor paper and painted them.

I drew this one from a picture of a tiger then I drew it again using charcoal pencils.

Every week our teacher did a drawing lesson. First we drew the shapes of an Iris then we went back and did shading.

Another fun art project.

This week we had a lesson on calligraphy. It is very hard.

A lesson on perspective.

A lesson on shapes and shading.

We did some quick draws one day. Our teacher had 3 different drawings on the board in different perspectives and we had to do the same.

This lesson was so hard for me. This is suppose to be an acorn. I had the hardest time with it.

Another drawing lesson.

And one more.

One more on perspective.

This was my final project. It is acrylic paint on canvas. This is the dock on Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire, and Dad's sailboat. I based this painting off of two photos. The kids on the dock are Carol, Rob and me. I gave this painting to dad for his 92nd birthday.

The next couple paintings I did on my own at home.

I drew and painted this just before christmas. I found a picture in a coloring book and redrew it on a watercolor board. I used watercolors then colored pencils to finish it up.

A few years ago I bought a Learn how to paint watercolor book. It is filled with drawings for you to transfer and paint. First I used tracing paper to transfer this drawing to a watercolor board then I painted it.
